NON-Chinese smartphones available

Device manufacturers who are not Chinese rebranded or Chinese owned:
LG – Korean
Samsung – Korean
Apple – US
Google – US
Asus – Taiwan
Sony – Japan
HTC – Taiwan
Acer – Taiwan
Oppo, Oneplus, Vivo, Moto, Redmi, Mi, BlackShark RealMe, Huawei, Blackberry are all owned by Chinese corporations – BBK, HMD or TCL, etc. Xiaomi, Lenovo, Huawei, TCL make and sell under their own for the most part.
Indian brands such as Micromax, Lava, and others have gone into a niche category due to lack of innovation and honestly, poor software optimization, and outgunned in the marketing. I would not recommend them especially if the updates are few and often just not there at all from the security side of Android.
In the end, almost everyone makes the devices or the components in a China or Chinese owned factory – Foxconn. It’s simply a case of whether the firmware has any inputs from them or completely controlled by the brand like Apple
Devices made by Pegatron (Taiwan) may be an alternative as they were spun off Asus and are now making the new iPhone SE and they maybe manufacturing devices for other brands
